Surprisingly, it was returned to the museum the very next day. However, Tintin realizes that this statue is a fake as the original one had a broken ear, whereas this one doesn?t. The young man travels to San Theodoros in South America. The republic is in conflict as two Generals are fighting with each other to gain power. Tintin learns that the man who had made the original statue has been murdered, but his pet parrot is alive.
