Summary of the Book
Pashtun and Hazara are two ordinary teenagers in love. However, the land they live in is not so ordinary. They must face crippling odds if they want to be together, odds such as their families, their culture, their tradition and the threat of the Taliban. They live in Afghanistan, where terror attacks and murders are everyday events. Yet they believe there is hope. When another boy turns them over to the Taliban, the little hope they have seems to disappear. Blending realistic descriptions of the conditions in Afghanistan and the timeless story of forbidden love, this tale shows how love will always bloom, despite the darkness.
