The Mustard Seed: The Revolutionary Teachings of Jesus is a book that speaks of the revolutionary teachings of Jesus that are very different from the safe and gentle Christian teachings that we know today. Osho has based the book on the Gospel of Thomas. It is a recollection of the years in the Lord?s life that have not been revealed. It talks about his life in India and Egypt, and what was learnt from the Egyptian secret societies. The sayings of Jesus act as a seed for each chapter in the book and goes on to examine different aspects of life like birth, death, love and fear.
Osho is an Indian mystic, guru and spiritual teacher. His international following has continued even after his death. He was controversial because of his outspoken criticism of politicians, institutionalized religion and Mahatma Gandhi. As a professor of philosophy, he travelled throughout India during the 1960s as a public speaker.
