The Last Song Film tie-in ed Edition, Spark?s fifteenth book, tells the tale of a young girl who rediscovers her love for her estranged father.
Summary Of The Book
Veronica Miller aka Ronnie is still bitter over her parents divorce three years ago. She lives with her mother along with her younger brother Jonah. She is not very close to her mother, and she still has not forgiven her father for moving away to North Carolina.
The Last Song Film tie-in ed Edition begins with Veronica?s mother deciding to send her and her brother to spend the summer with her father. Ronnie resents this and when she arrives in the small beach town, she does not spend much time with her father. Instead she spends a lot of time on the beach, making new friends.
She meets a boy named Will Blakelee and a girl called Blaze. A misunderstanding causes Blaze to hold a grudge against Ronnie. Meanwhile, Will makes it clear he finds Ronnie attractive.
Being in a rebellious mood, Ronnie is not able to decide how she feels towards those around her. Then, she and Will spend some time together when they stand guard over a nest of loggerhead turtles. This helps her acknowledge her feelings for Will. This in turn helps her understand her father better.
As the summer progresses, Ronnie understands why her mother sent her and her brother to stay with their father. She grows close to him and she finishes a piece of music he has been composing. She had refused to attend the Juilliard School previously because of her resentment towards her father who had been her inspiration in taking up music. She now decides that she will try for admission to Juilliard.
The Last Song Film tie-in ed Edition was written specifically for being made into a film. The movie, of the same name, was released in 2009.
