Musafir (Marathi) is an account of the interesting life of Achyut Godbole, as perceived by himself. He studied in the Marathi medium up to the high school level, and gained admission into the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology for his engineering studies.
He turned down the opportunity of being picked for a job through a campus interview in order to work with Bhil Adivasis. He had studied chemical engineering, but his career was in the software industry. He learnt the fundamentals of programming and picked up software skills on the job, beginning as a programmer at Tata Mills and then at IBM. He eventually headed the Software Division of Patni Computers for 11 years, was with Syntel as the Managing Director and later, became the CEO of L&T Infotech.
